For those of you who've been an avid reader of our blog for awhile, you'll remember that I went to the Philippines in February as the "official" documentarian of "Operation Taghoy". Every year, Uplift Internationale sends a team of surgeons, nurses, and support staff to rural towns in the Philippines, where they perform surgeries correcting cleft palates and lips of children who can't afford the surgery. This is a FANTASTIC organization. I FINALLY had a chance to finish the video containing a lot of the footage and photos I shot. Please take a few minutes to check it out. If you are looking for an organization to donate too, you should look into this one. Hardly ANY of the money goes to admin. stuff... since it's a small group almost all of the donation goes to help these kids. It's so cool and it was such a privilege to participate!

Yes it's true... Alex & I finally bought a little point & shoot digital camera so we don't have to keep relying on others (& our iphones) for pics! Here is a little montage of photos of the last 2 weeks. (And don't worry... more video coming this week! In fact... I'm just about to post one.)

For those of you keeping track, this will be the 2nd time we've moved our home in less than 9 months! (See post below). But the good news is that the error on our credit report has been fixed (yay!) and we found a great home to rent. The bad part of this is that we actually have to pack & move... I HATE MOVING!!! So next week is the big week. Alex and I will probably be out of the office most of the week because of this. Just wanted to let ya'll know!!

Wow... I don't think I've ever been to so many places in so little time... except for maybe when I toured Europe via train in college! Earlier this month we were in Canada shooting Missy & Gary's wedding, then off to Mexico for vacation, and this week we are in Oahu, Hawaii shooting something super cool for Victor Sizemore. More details to come, but here's a pic he took of us. Not a bad background to be shooting in, and I can safely say that I could handle living here. :)

What a whirlwind weekend! Alex & I flew back from vacation on Friday (which was awesome by the way - some pics and video to come) in time to shoot Jacklyn & Dan's incredible wedding at Montage in Laguna Beach. Jeannie & her Details Details associates pulled out all the stops on this one... the event was just gorgeous and everything ran without a hitch as always. Sunny from White Lilac provided the floral decor with rich deep reds. The thing that I will always remember about this wedding, is that during the cocktail hour, Aaron Delesie was shooting some photos w/the couple and all of a sudden some fog rolled in. It made for a very beautiful photo session. I can't wait to see his pics!

Alex and I are leaving today for a VACATION! All the trips we've taken since our honeymoon have either involved family (holidays, weddings, etc.) or work so this will be the first "official" vacation we've taken in a long time! We are headed down to Puerto Vallarta for 5 days where we will be chillin' with one of my best friends since 2nd grade (and her husband). Unfortunately, it's the rainy season there, so cross your fingers that it doesn't pour on us too much! But really, we just plan to relax, drink some margaritas, and basically recharge the batteries. After we get back it is one hectic traveling schedule (with weddings in between of course!) More on that later! In case you'd like

We get back from our trip to Canada to find a note on the house we're renting in Irvine (while we rent out the home we own in Murrieta) saying that the house is in foreclosure and will go to auction on 9/18. UM HELLO!!! Thanks for letting us know!! So obviously we start FREAKING OUT. This whole situation is complicated by the fact that we will be out of town for the next 2 1/2 weeks starting on Sunday. Oh... but it gets better.
So this week is insane since we have tons to do before we leave. We talk to our mortgage broker who thinks he can swing another mortgage on a small condo or something out here in the OC. So we spend TWO DAYS driving around looking at properties. Found one we like, want to make an offer. BUT WAIT... our credit scores are messed up because of a mistake from a credit card company!!! (thank God we found out now!) This won't be able to be fixed for about a week or so. So we decide to just hold out and just wait till we come back into town to decide what to do. But wait... there's MORE!
So today I spend a couple hours at the gym and running errands and get back to find a) a "for sale" sign in our yard and b) a lock box on our door. AGAIN.... THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW!!! The freaking out stage is over, now it is just SHEER PANIC!!
So I quickly dropped everything I was doing & looked up a few rental houses in the area, desperately called the realtors and was able to look at two tonight. Both we really like so we decide to apply for one. I just hope our little credit mishap won't stop them from renting it to us. Which of course we wouldn't be able to move into anyway until the end of the month.
I REALLY HOPE this is the end of the story. It sure felt good getting it out! Thanks for reading and if you know anyone that has a fixer-upper for sale or a rental in the Irvine area... feel free to pass on the info!
