Nikki & Matt... A Dash to the Altar!

Saturday morning saw me down at Salt Creek Beach bright and early for Nikki and Matt's "Dash to the Altar" 5K run. Matt has been a keen runner all his life and wanted to incorporate running into the wedding day and encourage all his friend and relatives that don't exercise regularly to come out and join them. I love it when clients build in personal touches to their wedding day...always gives us a unique perspective from which to film. They'd made T-shirts for everyone and handed out prizes and water bottles to the 50 or so people that showed up. The runners were fun to shoot and I particularly enjoyed watching the reactions of onlookers to the sight of 'WonderWoman' and 'Remote Control Man' jogging along the course. The race was tight but Matt took first place in a sprint for the finish!!

Then we headed off to the Ritz-Carlton for a short break...thanks to Grandfather Stan for letting us commandeer his bedroom and turn it into 'Same Day Edit' Mission control. The rest of the day went off without hitch under the expert guidance of coordinator Jill Watson and Joel from Eckman Maus and I had fun exchanging competitive banter throughout the day as we grabbed a catalog of wonderful images. Check them out on his blog...I think they are fantastic!

Joe Thornton DJ'd and had the dance floor packed all night. Marcia Johnson made the room look beautiful with her floral talents. All in all a great day with a cool couple and a great team of professionals. Thanks to Nikki and Matt and their families for allowing us to be a part of it and making us feel so welcome!

Alex.

*** Stay tuned... two same day edits will be posted today and tomorrow!***

Brett & Steve had an amazing wedding last November at Montage. Theirs was a destination and their family and friends flew out to California for the big day! We had a great time filming their wedding and everything was amazing. Victor Sizemore took the pics (he is the bomb) and Square Root did the design!

Jeannie & Steve's "Sneek Peek"

This Saturday, our good friends Don & Joanne from Take 1 Productions(and fellow Re:Framer from Detroit flew out here to help us shoot Jeannie & Steve's amazing wedding at the Hyatt Huntington Beach. Don & his wife Joanne shot incredible footage at the wedding and he loaded it onto his laptop and edited together a little trailer for them. How sweet!!! Thanks for all your hard work guys!!

The wedding was fantastic because there was another great team in place... Brooke from Details Details, Jose Villa- super talented photographer, Sweet Gems did the cake, White Lilac did the floral design, and Dimitri spun the tunes!!!

Congratulations Jeannie & Steve!!!

Dana & Andrew's Week-After edit!

We were honored to film Dana & Andrew's wedding last Saturday at the St. Regis Monarch Beach. Talk about a great couple! The day was filled with fun and love. We had an awesome time shooting alongside the crew from Triplecord. You have to check out the photos on their Blog! The gals from Details Details were the coordinating team and as usual the event went off without a hitch. J.P. Reynolds, who literally makes me cry every time we film him, was the amazing minister. One of our very favorite DJ's (Peter from Vive) was there to spin the tunes, and you'll see a shot of the amazing groom's cake that Grace from Sweet Gems made! So what do all these amazing vendors (some of the best in the OC if not the world) have in common? They are all members of Wedding Life!

Dana & Andrew hired us to edit a 2 song NEXT Day edit in lieu of a Same Day Edit so they would be able to show a concise highlights at their 2nd reception in Taiwan! So enjoy the video - we had so much fun editing it. And Andrew & Dana... stop watching it on your computer and go have fun in Bora Bora!!

Ahhhh.... Relaxation!

Just wanted to let ya'll know that Alex and I just returned from a little getaway to Sedona, Arizona. We met my parents there and spent a few days with them which was really fun. For those of you who don't know, I grew up just outside of Denver, CO and because weddings keep us pretty tied to never being away on weekends, we don't see them as much as we should. So it was really fun to "meet halfway" and relax together. We stayed at a really cute B&B called Briar Patch Inn that didn't have TV or cell service for that matter!! It was kind of a shock to the system LOL! Anyway, on Monday we took an all day tour to the Grand Canyon. Here's a panorama pic I took.

Betty & Joel's Sonoma Wedding

Last October, we packed our bags and headed north to the Fairmont Sonoma for Betty & Joel's amazing wedding. We were treated to not only beautiful scenery and a super fun party, but the hospitality of the incredible family and friends that the bride and groom have. Everyone was so nice and so excited to be there... it created such a fantastic ambiance! My favorite part about he wedding was their cocktail hour... it was themed after a county fair and everyone had a great time! We were able to work with Perspecta Photography for the first time and they were awesome. Check out their Blog for more images. BTW... there was sooooo much great audio at this wedding that it made this Arthouse Platinum film so fun to edit!
