The Fusion of Video & Stills...

Well WPPI is over and it's time to get back to editing and the blog! I just wanted to share three videos that combine (or "fuse") the power of video shot with the 5D Mark II (a new professional DSLR) and stills.

The first example is a little promo for the fabulous Jasmine Star These are her photos, and I filmed the video portion and edited it:

This one is a fun film for a senior portrait shoot. Again, I was the one filming and editing, and the awesome Michelle Rasmussen was the photographer:

And here's a family photo session also shot with Michelle:

Chau & Matt's Arthouse Edit - Edmonton, Canada

I'm off to the WPPI tradeshow in a few minutes but wanted to post this film before I leave! It's the Arthouse Edit of one of my favorite couples of '08 - Chau & Matt. You may remember viewing their Same Day Edit post from earlier. Anyway, this couple is amazing and I just had to blog this video! We're excited to head back to Edmonton in '09 for Chau's sister's wedding. Can't wait!

The quick run-down on the vendors:

Photographers: Jen Bebb assisted by Sean McClellan
Ceremony Location: Fairmont Hotel McDonald
Reception Location: Westin

Jana & Brad's Highlights from Seven Degrees

Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach is one of our favorite venues to shoot. Not just because it's minutes from our house (although that IS nice), but because it's such a unique space that can be turned into anything you want. Jana & Brad had a beautiful wedding there last August and I'm excited to share their highlights with you! We shot alongside Victor Sizemore - check out the rockin photos on his blog here. Congratulations guys!

Behind the Scenes of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition

This week we are involved in a really cool project... to film all the behind the scenes action of ABC's "Extreme Makeover - Home Edition" for the awesome builder - SC Homes. I was really skeptical that this show was really filmed in seven days but boy was I wrong!! I can't believe the logistics of the project... just crazy! What's so awesome about this is that everyone (including the cast) are so accommodating and so nice!! The producers & directors help us get as close to the action as possible. Way cool! Now I really shouldn't say "us" because I am not there (well I was on Saturday, but now I'm manning the office). Alex is shooting the rest of the week alongside Victor Sizemore who is shooting the photos. Another friend and coordinator, Sharon Gall, designed the VIP tent! Anyway, I can't tell you any details about this episode, but I can give you some hints: It will be a 2 hour episode and they are actually building 3 structures (including a ginormous house for the awesome family). Everyone involved says that it's one of the most complicated and intense builds they've ever done! Anyway, stay tuned... can't wait to post the final video!! BTW... say a little prayer for the end of this week... they are predicting rain!!

Here's Alex and Victor right before the demolition

Jaime & Todd's Same Day Edit

Oh my gosh... what a special wedding to be a part of!! Jaime & Todd were married last weekend at Montage in Laguna Beach. It was so fun watching one of our friends get married, but being able to film it was even more special!! The couple had such a love-filled day it was hard to keep from getting to emotional. Their family and friends were so awesome and helped to make the day incredible. Jaime was the PERFECT bride. Obviously totally gorgeous in her gown (which had pockets!!), she was also so laid back and was just so excited for the big day! Even though the morning started out with rain, it ended up to be perfect weather. Phew! Aaron Delesie (and his wife Jen) were there to take all the photographs (yay!! We love them!) and we were able to get killer stuff with the amazing light - especially at the beach! The fun continued at the reception and everyone had an amazing time. I really liked the color scheme - very unique and it was really gorgeous! if I keep typing I will end up with a gigantic post so I'm just going to stop here. Jaime & Todd, you know we love you!! Hope you had an incredible time in Hawaii. Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Oh and for all of you videographers who are watching this, All of the bridal prep except for the shot of the dress was filmed with the 5D Mark II.
